On June 11th 2008 Coxswain Dean Culwell and Crew Member Bud Criner worked with the Montana National Guard on a training mission to train pilots and medical support personnel in water extractions using Blackhawk helicopters

130-10-03 provided onsite support for the Montana National Guard by placing victims in the water, provide safety for victims (and the  rescue swimmer), provide a COMMS link between air and water, as well as, prevent potential conflicts with recreational boaters

On June 28th The Helena Flotilla held their spring Qualifications Examination (QE) for both Coxswain and Crew. Here the QE Task was to bring a Vessel into an alongside tow.

On July 19th 2008 The Helena Flotilla hosted the Eastern Area Conference. After the Business meeting in the morning everyone hit the water for Training and Qualification Examinations. Here Dean Culwell (blue PWC), Jim Armstrong and OTO Paul  Bellona (Green PWC) are working on the Man Overboard (MOB) Drill for the PWC Certification.  Paul was originally riding with Dean when he became the MOB. Jim successfully completed the task of recovering Paul.

Recently 130-10-03 had a story written about them in the Helena IR. Reporter Alana Listoe did a ride along and wrote the story which can be found here.
